Medium multi-layer materials (1.5 – 3 mm) consist of multiple bonded layers of films, foils, textiles, adhesives, laminates, or composite structures with moderate thickness and increased cutting resistance.
Because medium multi-layer constructions often combine flexible and rigid layers with adhesive coatings, low-friction and wear-resistant blades are highly recommended. DLC-coated blades and tungsten carbide cutting tools provide smoother cutting performance, cleaner edges, reduced adhesive buildup, and extended blade life in industrial production environments.
